Savoury Croutons

So easy and so much better than store bought!  Also, made with Olive Us olive oil, so you know it’s going to be good!

4 cups of Day-old French bread (i.e. – sourdough) – cut into cubes
1/2 cup Olive Us Wild Mushroom-Sage Olive Oil or Tuscan Herb Olive Oil*
2-3 teaspoons of Kosher salt (or seasoned salt mixture with garlic and herbs)
1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper
**optional:  mix in 3 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese prior to baking

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, toss bread cubes with the Olive Oil, salt and pepper. Once bread is evenly coated, place the cubes on a rimmed baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven. Bake for 15-30 minutes, stirring a couple of times to ensure even browning.  Keep in mind the older and more stale the bread, the quicker it will brown.
*Other suggested oils to use – Herbs de Provence, Garlic, Milanese Gremolata, Fused Rosemary Olive Oil
